Along The Right Lines

Down the A7 in the Borders the driver is faced with many road signs but this one seems to have information overload. There must be something very exciting off to the right.

The most significant is the green 'bam' one, which is an indication to the contractors working on the new Borders Railway of their access to the site. These are all numbered from the Edinburgh end, I think they reach into the 40's.

And these accesses are certainly well used: all along the route of the line there is much evidence of work in progress, with trees along the banks removed and trackbed in preparation with diggers in use.

It will be interesting to watch the development as months go by.
