The "Ansel Adams of the Everglades"
... or so Clyde Butcher has been called
Since I needed to return an overdue book and spend some time in the stacks looking for a couple of specific titles as a follow-up, I headed over the the county's main library in Clearwater, all the while hoping the Clyde Butcher photography exhibit would still be there.
It was a good day. There was no fine (phew, it would have been embarrassing, my daughter's a librarian), what I was looking for was right there on the shelves where they were 'sposed to be, and it was.
When he's not standing waist deep in the Everglades or the Great Cyprus Swamp, with his wooden, large format camera (see extra), I learned that his gallery is down the road a bit in Venice.
I feel a road trip coming on ... and the adventure through the viewfinder continues.
