The new front door

Yesterday, the builders and the joiners had worked together to get the door and windows into place. It being one large item of aluminium required all of those here to cooperate in moving it into place. Thus, overnight there was a tarpaulin to cover it and prevent rain and anything else unwanted from coming in.

Today the glazier arrived and put in the glass; double glazing will help reduce road noise and retain heat in the winter. The builder was back also, to start putting in scotia etc. The front door is orange amid the black, the choice of S and endorsed by our architect, daughter J. My slightly impaired colour vision allows me to very comfortably defer to them as what I see is almost certainly not what most people see. I like what I see here, but would never have trusted myself to choose it.

Looking forward to a four day weekend, as this week has been possibly the busiest ever.
