Puir wee planties!
I slept well last night and I do believe that finally my cough and sore throat are beginning to ease. I've been testing regularly as I have so much on just now and world hate to be responsible for taking the virus to somebody vulnerable, however all the tests have been negative thank goodness.
Cleo is neither up nor down after her dramas yesterday, she is eating like a horse but has a slightly rough meow having had a tube down her throat. Still all's well that ends well.
It rained for most of the day today, not very tempting to go out at all, so we did what we had to and took Colin's car down to the garage at Restalrig. It has been clunking a bit on cornering all we want it checked out. Having had one set of wheel bearings seize on me and having to watch our rear wheel, complete with all its brake fittings and mountings, overtake us and head off down the dual carriageway into the distance, I have no desire to repeat the experience. Fortunately I had been aware something wasn't right that day and was being cautious and kept the speed below 50, so was able to get the car, on its other three wheels, into a layby safely! We never found the wheel!!!
What a nightmare it was driving across town to Restalrig from here. York Place is closed so traffic is diverted from Queen Street left onto Princes Street at Jenners and along to Leith Street through all these signs which say no entry, buses, trams and taxis only. Not very reassuring. Like the Magi, we went back by another route!
We popped into the Meadowbank Shopping centre, the M&S outlet there is closing down soon which will be a loss. They have a lot of furniture in just now. I came away empty handed though.
The blip was on the way home, Its stopped at Tattie Shaws for some of my favourite Mac Red apples which for some reason the supermarkets never stock. I do think it sweet that the people of Montgomery Street care so much for their plants that they provide welfare facilities for them. I could perhaps take some of mine along!
I was really tired when I got home, so had an hour or so's doze. I'm blaming being under the weather, not my age!
We played bridge this evening which went fairly well. We were the positive score at the end of the evening in spite of our best score not counting for some reason. The system does that periodically, no idea why.
