Fountains Abbey

We visited the Abbey on the way home. It’s a vast sprawling complex well worth a visit. My advice is give it a day and take a picnic.
It started to rain within an hour of arrival. My shower proof coat was useless as the rain got heavier. Fortunately Chris had brought an umbrella. We carried a n walking round the reservoir which had been drained so they could work on it. We also spotted a swans nest.
