Music audit
Louise, flute player extraordinaire of Linton Jazz, has done a complete audit of all of our jazz music and has identified missing parts. For years she's had boxes and boxes of original music plus hard copies of the music for all the instruments, and the parts for each instrument (i.e. the trombone section = x 5 trombone parts), that she's stored and lugged around to rehearsals and concerts.
In more recent years she's been instrumental (geddit?) in sorting out parts for all 105 pieces we hold so that they can be scanned and held on 'the cloud'.
To say it's been a massive job is putting it mildly.
Anyway we're now almost there, Louise has sent out a list identifying the missing parts and we're all to check if we've got them.
So, this afternoon I was inspired to go through every piece of french horn music, put it in alphabetical order, de-duplicate and collate in this folder. This is the folder I need to check before I print anything off the cloud (where there is even more music).
Hat's off to you Louise, what a superb job AND you'll be pleased to know I've found three out of my list of missing parts...
