Grave of John Irving

With the recent expedition to find the Endeavour in the South Atlantic I’ve been reading quite a bit about Artic and Antarctic expeditions.

In that context, walking through Dean Cemetery this afternoon I came across the grave of John Irving a Lieutenant who died on the Franklin expedition to find the Northwest passage.
