Local gathering spot

There are always people gathered in front of this relatively new take-out bagel place, so this time I thought I’d stop and take a blip. What looks like a friendly wave actually turned out to be a slightly hostile challenge of the “you lookin’ at me?” sort—as I learned when I walked away and she called out, “Good luck with your spying!” On whose behalf could I possibly be photographing the bagel shop?
