Chabos
Angie's PP Backblip
The brown chick born last autumn with the 2nd black cock - the other one is brown & her father. At the moment 5 Chabo hens are brooding. Hopefully not all the eggs will hatch as we would have to apply to be a chicken farm under European Union regulations and apart from that will increase the obligatory Animal Pest charge we have to pay of 2.5 cents (0.025 Euros) per chicken per year. We get compensation if bird flu breaks out & we have to slaughter them. Same for the horses with foot & mouth but they cost 1 Euro each. Luckily the charge is made annually according to the numbers on 31st December so maybe by then we will have had lots of good roast chicken - no, none of our chicks land in the pot!
