Bourneville
Ruth's new place is just a short walk from Cadbury World. There are some nice green spaces in this area and today I wandered through what must once have been a grand garden, part of the Cadbury estate. Now just a shadow of what it must once have been, it is still an oasis of peace and there are signs that it is still cared for. These daffodils, reminiscent of the wild narcissus nobilis that I blipped recently, are following on from crocuses that would have been in flower when I walked close by a month ago.
A busy day with Ruth, cleaning, moving boxes of her stuff, washing the big living room curtains - dry now after a breezy day. A plumber came and replaced the broken kitchen mixer tap and investigated other issues that need resolving. Nothing major although the leaky bath tap first needs a visit from the Water Board to free up the mains stop cock outside. Happy to have found a decent and likeable plumber, he'll be back in due course.
Tomorrow I may get to wield a paintbrush .... but there's a lot of washing down to do first. Hmph!!
