Godinton House -1446

Our dear chums L&A kindly gave us an RHS membership this year and today was our first visit to the nearest RHS garden at Godinton near Ashford in Kent ( the garden of England!)
The original house dates from 1446 although fire,war,family arguments,subsidence etc have meant various additions through the ages-it was beautiful with ponds,balustrades,statues,and wonderful vistas in all directions..!! Some wonderful plants and even a swing hanging from a huge ash tree...we had lots of fun and the only downside was the fact that the tearoom was closed ..!!
