The Govan Seagull.
The Seagull Trust was formed in 1978 and offers free canal cruising for disabled and disadvantaged persons and groups. The Trust operates from four locations in Scotland; Falkirk (photo) and Ratho on the Union Canal, Kirkintilloch on the Forth and Clyde Canal. And Inverness on the Caledonian Canal. It is the largest service provider of its kind within the UK, and run entirely by volunteers. A friend of mine was a volunteer crew member until he sustained ill health. They’ve currently 8 boats, and before the pandemic carried thousands of passengers a year.
