Pinwheel

So very windy today! This flower bloomed and immediately started blowing ferociously, but tenaciously in the wind. Not a pedal blew off.

The pedals blew in what I remembered the childhood toy the pinwheel did in the wind, only without going all the way around in the rotation. I found it to be very exciting and extraordinary.

I should mention, for the less experienced cactus flower viewer, that each of these prickly pear flowers blooms for one day then withers and dies. So each day that I post a flower, it has bloomed anew that day!
