Flowers!

It's only a few days since I checked the tree we reckon to be greengage for blossom but, suddenly, there are flowers.

This, you may recall, was the tree which did bear fruit, first noted in 2013, but which never produced a crop, because in 2018 a certain over-enthusiastic person decided to 'trim back' the tree and sent all the fruit-bearing branches to the tip. It grows beside the back fence, behind the 'spare' shed.

I have looked in vain for signs of blossom or fruit every year since and this is the first time I have noticed blossom. My neighbour has a plum tree currently in bloom so, bees and weather permitting, we may see more 'small round green things' later this year.

I'll reserve my excitement until they are on my plate.
