80s style (style?)

The Ruby Wedding anniversary celebrations for my brother and his wife started around midday and was still going strong after we left at 10.00pm. The moves were just starting on the dance floor.

The food was excellent, prepared by a talented chef who is in the Michelin Guide, with each item on the menu relating to a special event. The evening buffet was no less impressive including such delicacies as the fabled Manchester Eggs, Manchester Tart and Manchester Tart Truffles.

To work up an appetite for such gastronomic pleasures (and after a full English breakfast) we walked along the Sett Valley Way to New Milks, coming back on the road through Thornsett. A fine, if cold spring morning which lifted the spirits.
