Lavender help!!

I think the lavender bushes in our front border have died! This is only their 3rd year. Each other year they have looked great and I have dead headed them. Does anyone know if it would be worth cutting them right down or should we get new ones. Their part of the garden is north facing and doesn't get much sun. Thanks for any advice!
