Having subjected you to a glut of doggy blips recently, and with no animals at my disposal for a few days, I offer you a sad sight from the centre of the village of Balfron.

What an eyesore! There used to be an attractive red sandstone building, the local Electricity Board shop and office, on this plot in the main street, but several years ago after the shop closed, the building was demolished and planning permission sought for a block of flats.

The company which took on the building job was obviously an early victim of the recession, work was abandoned and over the years this is the shameful result.
