Nelson, Day 2
We started the day at the Nelson Market, which is a mixture of fruit and vegetable stalls, food stalls and stalls selling an eclectic range of craft, jewellery and all sorts of things that are lovely to look at but not what you might want in your home. Breakfast was a bacon and egg butty from one of the market stalls, followed by a good coffee at the Suter Gallery café. Friends of our friends joined us for coffee and afterwards the four of them left to spend time together and we browsed the gallery and the sculpture gardens outside before heading back to our hotel for a short while. In the afternoon we walked to the seafront and found a lovely café sitting out over the water, where we relaxed with a glass of wine and some goats cheese croquettes while enjoying the view and the sunshine. We walked back into the city, started sorting our bags to leave at the hotel and take on the walk, met our friends for a pre-dinner drink, then went our separate ways for dinner before an early night. The big adventure starts tomorrow.
The main blip and the extra show a selection of photos from the day.
