Town Hall Clock

Today I  met two  of my friends for lunch at the Old Forge pub at Otterbourne near Winchester. Afterwards we went for a walk in the  woods by the River Itchen Navigation. I was delighted to find  a clump of the diminutive  Moschatel ( Adoxa moschatellina)  in flower. It is also called the Town Hall Clock plant as the five flowers are arranged like  faces on a town clock  with  one on top so passing pilots can read the time too!  The flowers  are only about 6-8 mm across, and are green, so it is not the most obvious of plants.
By coincidence,  exactly a year ago, I blipped Moschatel  in other local woodland.
The extra shows an old lock on the Itchen Navigation.
