Bessie's

My new favourite pub: the Dyffryn Arms. It's a proper old-fashioned pub and it feels like you're walking into someone's parlour, which actually you are! Proprietor, Bessie Davies, has been making punters welcome there for a remarkable 63 years and it has been run by her family since the 1800s. Bass beer is served from the barrel via a jug and Bessie and the locals are very friendly and like nothing better than to sit around having a natter by the stove. A wonderful place in a rather idyllic location.
