Purton Hulks

A divine place to visit for these old concrete barges deliberately beached here to prevent the Severn river eroding away the bank between river and canal. They have done their job very well and provide endless opportunities for those of us that enjoy a good bit of dereliction!

We are on a field close to the Hulks overlooking the estuary. Peaceful - although the birds are a bit noisy!

Tomorrow we move on into Wales - hoping to pause at Tintern Abbey.
