The Quee Boat, Cunningsburgh

A very grey morning with low light. Pulling off the road to study the map I was pleased to come across the HQ for the Cunningsburgh History Group.

The roof of this shed was one of the lifeboats from HMS Oceanic, an armed merchant cruiser which ran aground off the island of Foula in September 1914.
For many years the lifeboat was used to roof a small workshop at a place called the Quee, Cunningsburgh. In 2008 it was gifted to the History Group.
