Cup and ring “research”

Well as I said, I’ve to be good, but couldn’t today as we had a long-standing walk planned, taking our town friends for a 6 mile round to the cup and ring marks. A few people were there putting in wee flags around the area of the marks and nearby burial chamber. The chap on the left is a consultant who is doing research for Durham Uni relating to the 2000BCE marks around the north-east. He is looking into Aboriginal and Native American symbols to relate their ancient peoples to those here.

Marion and Ken enjoyed the walk and their lunch - I made green lentil and adzuki bean curried soup with carrot, onion, asparagus stalks I had left over and celery. They enjoyed the beetroot bread too. We all had a good catch up while walking.

I’ve been to town to get my nails done and now we are going to do something I have never done before - fight my way through the yummy mummies and footballers wives in Ponteland Waitrose. I’m very excited about what extravagances I may find as I’ve never been in this hall of delights (expensive ones) before. (Mr C got all we needed in Lidl but I’m sure I’ll find some food I didn’t know I needed here.)
