A busy day going to the venue for next week's party, measuring and counting tables, planning, and an afternoon and evening sorting out family archives. In between a delicious tapas lunch - cinio gogoneddus, according to E - in Penarth.Very imaginative variations, the day's specials were all so good we ordered one of each, smoked eel croquetas being the highlight of a lot of highs. We'd hoped to walk on the beautiful pier afterwards but by that time it was pouring with rain, so I'm afraid this is another food-related blip.

I felt quite at home with the tiles on the bar, the same patterned floor tiles that are used in the Languedoc and in Catalunya.
