Loveliest of trees, the cherry now
Today we cycled to our favourite local garden: Sir Harold Hillier Garden near Romsey to meet my two Uni friends and their husbands. We had a very good brunch at the fairly new Garden Restaurant and a pleasant walk and talk. Unfortunately, last week's snow, frosts, and cold winds had really taken their toll on the garden. In particular, the poor magnolias which should have been looking stunning were bearing brown, shrivelled up, flowers. Many camellia flowers had suffered the same fate. However, luckily, this cherry tree had fared much better, and the daffodils still looked good.
