Anthem

I was out tonight, soaking up the high octane (booze fueled) atmosphere of the annual Scottish derby between St Andrews and Edinburgh Universities. 

The bar at Fife Ice Arena was overwhelmed. Edinburgh were too. 

They have struggled all season as a result of their home ice at Murrayfield staying shut after pandemic restrictions lifted. I heard someone left a tap dripping, with disastrous consequences. 

St Andrews bus in lots of supporters (I counted 5 buses but the car park contains the deepest potholes in Fife, so looking around is not a safe option) and they have a jolly time. Few of them know anything about ice hockey. 

Junior played very well, and gave 100% as always, but he is not yet clear of the cold he had last week so his stamina was not quite there.

The Blip was taken during the anthem. Some thought standing up was inappropriate. Or maybe they were blootered already. 

I wore an FFP2 mask throughout, and kept well away from the students. Anyone wondering why 40 people a day are dying of Covid 19 here (Scotland), and the hospitals are overflowing, would have found the answer there tonight.
