Bearing witness
The Fitzwilliam Museum in Cambridge always has a surprise up its sleeve. I visited the Hockney's Eye exhibition (it's free folks!) and turned a corner to be confronted by this enormously powerful piece by Reza Aramesh juxtaposed with the carving of St Sebastian behind it. The story is in extras and makes for a very timely read.
I wondered if perhaps I should have posted a warning about distressing images but frankly with some of the desperately shocking photos and footage from Irpin and Bucha this week then I feel that we have a duty not to turn away from such horrors.
