Wish we were there

This is the time of year when the Music Group traditionally spreads its wings and heads abroad (see a Year Ago, below). This year, though, only two of our members went on the trip, which was to New York. That's a shame, since Zürich last year and Budapest in 2007 were great trips. Strangely, neither of the guys who are in NY have been on one of these trips in a while, so I can't help feeling that the impetus may be falling off just a little bit. It's the first time I've missed the annual 'musical pilgrimage' since the trips began in 2001, so it's been a bit of a wrench. It was mostly considerations of cost which put the rest of us, including me, off New York this time. Hopefully we'll have an even bigger crowd than usual going along next year to whatever destination it turns out to be.

Anyway, the two away haven't forgotten the rest of us, as proved by the postcard which arrived this morning -- 'Having a great time. Weather a bit dull but that's not dampening our spirits.'
