Today I'd the task of delivering a letter and newspaper to homes in a number of nearby streets. They came from our Scottish Liberal Democrat Member of Parliament Jo Swinson. Since the coalition with the Conservative party the ratings of her party have been hit hard in Scotland. Yet Jo personally is a straight and conscientious politician, keeping her finger on the pulse of local issues. For instance, she has challenged the very unpopular move by the local authority to close several primary schools - written about on 13th March. I don't know how things will go in the next election with the big debate being about an independent Scotland, but if East Dunbartonshire loses her it will be someone else's gain in the long run. She'll find another constituency, for sure.
I took today's blip as I headed home at the end of my round from an elevated viewpoint on Grampian Way, South Baljaffray. It was so blustery that clouds were scudding fast across the sky and pockets of sunshine were spotlighting groups of high flats in the north of the city. The turret on the extreme left is Schaw House, Bearsden - a 19th century 'Tudor Gothic' building, once a convalescence home and now converted to 23 upmarket flats.
I have done some work on the tones and added a Photoshop dry brush filter to give a painterly effect and supply some textural interest.
