The Woodland Garden (Monday 4th April 2022)

Last Gardening Wednesday in my excitement I was quick to blip a snake's head fritillary that had sprung up in the shadows from nowhere overnight, having feared that I had lost it during its dormancy. I haven't yet found the one that sprung up elsewhere unbidden in the garden last year but now that Miranda's 2022 Wildflower Week has begun I have photographed another from the first bunch, in rather dull light.

I must visit the grounds of Lacock Abbey soon as they have a good display of them near to their Rose Garden.
