Singing loudly

This photo of the singing blackcap (Sylvia atricapilla) is not going to win any prizes, but I wish you could have heard the song itself.  This warbler sings beautifully at this time of year - which is quite a surprise as the rest of the time its call isn't at all attractive.  As you can see I had to take this through a forest of twigs and branches, but that was the best that I could manage as it steadfastly refused to sing from any more exposed condition.

I just wanted to remind people that tomorrow, being a Tuesday, is an opportunity for close up photography with the Tiny Tuesday challenge.  For my sins I've volunteered to host the challenge for April.

Close up photography can be done with a  specialist macro lens but it doesn't have to be, you can use an existing lens with an extension tube, or even just use your phone.  Many phones can now produce really excellent close up results.

So please feel free to post a close-up image of anything that catches your eye tomorrow, and I'll give hearts to my favourites later in the week once I have had the chance of looking at all the entries.

The tag for tomorrow, Tuesday 5 April, will be  TT358
