On the nest

The rookery at Moss Bluff is crowded now with nests.  Great blue herons take the top of the trees, great egrets are closer to the water.  Buzzards and osprey perched everywhere hoping for a snack.  The heron chicks are getting big but the egrets are just little white puffs.  Parents are flying in and out of the nests to guard them.  The biggest noise makers are the baby blues.  What a racket!  FEED ME. All too far away (which is good because you can only reach this rookery by boat so not easy to disturb them) for a good shot of the babies.  I need a more powerful camera lens.
As an added bonus yesterday,  I saw a large group of kayakers go through the locks on the dam.  They made more noise then than the baby blues. In extra.
