Mr and Mrs Merganser go for a swim

It was a much better weekend than last week's flat tire episode and was spent at the Taughannock Inn , next to the falls and park of the same name. Friday night was a little wild and windy ,so rather than go out we played chess in the common room. (I'm really bad at chess.)  Saturday dawned cloudy but wound  up being sunny and in the 40's. 4.5 miles later and 2 hikes up the gorge we did not catch site of the peregrines we were hoping for , but it was a beautiful day and a good walk  and we did spot our first phoebe of the season , a flock of vultures , an unidentified raptor , and the mergansers here. Dinner , unfortunately was a disappointment at a restaurant that has a very good reputation . But overall it was a good day. I did discover however that even though I had brought computer and camera I had neglected to bring anything to connect them. Sigh.posting late again.
