avinursery
Had great birding success this morning at the fen near Happy Isles. I saw two new species for life, two new for the park, and one new for the year. It's so productive this time of year. I spied a Red-Breasted Sapsucker boring a new nest cavity in an aspen tree in the fen, and I discovered this seemingly unoccupied beauty off to the side in a willow thicket. It looks like a flycatcher nest, perhaps, but it seems too big. A fine construction, in any event.
