Oxalis triangularis
Oxalis triangularis, is commonly called false shamrock. It is native to several countries in southern South America. The deep maroon leaves are trifoliate, like species in the clover genus Trifolium which are commonly called shamrock, hence the name “false shamrock”. An interesting feature is that the leaves close like an umbrella at night. The white or pale pink five-petalled flowers also close at night. (From the internet)
Had Communion at church this morning, but apart from that have been at home and doing some light chores. The HG has been out in the garden doing what he does out there.
Cali came to dinner, and then we had a nice few hours chat and watching a TV programme on food based in Tuscany, which was great. I would like to come back in another life as an Italian!
