Silverstone

Went up to Silverstone today. It was the UK round of the FIA World Endurance Championship and one of the cars that the company I work for designs was taking part.

Due to a qualifying issue they started from the back of the grid (2 drivers have to qualify in a 20 minute session and then the aggregate time is used, but they lost time due to a spin and didn't get timed laps for both drivers). As it was a 6 hour race, and I had a few things to do at home I went up for halfway through. Got there just after our car went out of the race after a clash with a GT Ferrari. The team had got up to 7th overall before the incident, so it showed good promise for the rest of the season, with the Le Mans 24 hour race featuring later in the season.

Had a brief chat with Tick Tock from blip. He is running a P2 class car, and was somewhat otherwise engaged, so it was only a brief chat. Good to see you Matt!
