What struck my fancy

Loading grain

on to the cargo vessel Eastern Virage. Grain silos are behind, the two lorries bring a load of grain round from the other side to the dockside for loading via the conveyor belt chutes (someone will know the proper name for them) Addendum, the equipment is called a Shiploader, there's a surprise.. Each lorryload is sampled for moisture content and organisms.

The river level is between low and high tide - due in 4 hours and the vessel is resting on the muddy river bed. Photo taken from the West Lynn ferry point.
