Worcester

We decided to pop over to Worcester today just to make sure the house we're buying was still there. It is.  So we parked up and took a walk along the canal.  We stopped at The Commandery as they have a nice garden cafe and we fancied a coffee. The Commandery is Worcester's museum of the English Civil War, the building having been the Royalist  headquarters during the Battle of Worcester, 1651.  After coffee we continued along the canal, apparently, according to signposts, one can walk/cycle to Droitwich, 12 miles distance, via the towpath.  We didn't go that far, leaving via a bridge back into town.

Lunch was rapidly approaching but unfortunately our first choice of Worcester Cathedral was scuppered, the cafe not open on Sundays, so we skirted round the cathedral and went to GoodRoots cafe by the old Royal Worcester Porcelain Works, now another museum.  There we had a very nice lunch before setting off back to the car and home.
