New
A month ago I took a picture of the underside of the worktop where the old tap was attached, and here you can see the underside of the worktop/sink where the new one has been attached.
The new tap is taller than the original one and has a detachable head so you can direct the water where you want. This is all nice and useful, but it does mean it exerts quite force on the sink. The new sink top is stainless steel and the tap is attached to it rather than to a granite worktop as previously. Even with a plastic plate to stiffen it, it still wobbles annoyingly. Since I took this picture I've added a wooden block between the top of the cabinet and the sheet metal of the sink which has reduced the wobble, but think it could still be improved...!
