Peat - and so it begins again.

This is my peat bank.

It's that time of year again.

This is the holiday weekend in May, and the usual time when I start the peat cutting. Me and my friend Bob started the turfing of the peat today, and only stopped when the rain started, and the blisters started appearing on my palms from the spade.

I really miss having some peat on the fire. I have finished last year's lot, and can't wait until the shed is filled with its wonderful aroma!

It's good for the purse, too......
