Ta daa!

I'm usually behind the camera and I did take the first volunteer photo at Parkrun today, but I was Run Director so had to be in the shot!  We had a reduced team this morning, but all veterans who quietly went about their roles and ensured a smooth run.  Thank you folks!

The forecast ice did not materialise but the sun did so it was very pleasant to stand for an hour and clap/cheer those taking part.  Afterwards we drove home to a quick cuppa and turnaround.  We had heard that there was a move afoot to start up a green group in the village and a much needed litter pick had been organised as a first meet.  The residential sections of our village are kept neat and tidy, but our four arteries suffer from 'chuck it all out of the window' syndrome as cars go through.

Twenty folks arrived and were given hi-vis vests, gloves and pickers and we set off to the four corners.  A group of us agreed that Keighley Road was the worst and indeed it was.  An hour and a half later and we had twelve bin bags  just from the hill up to the carpark, which included some safety glass from a fridge; a car hub cap; a car battery; a large superwhip canister and a booster seat!

On finishing we decided we had earned lunch and went to Yorkshire Treats for yummy sausage rolls and sweets.  The afternoon has been spent processing 600 parkrun photos and generally relaxing.
