If you want to get ahead...

Go see Alasdair Wallace!

I spotted this blackly comic sight when I went to pick up a couple of prints of one of my favourite paintings depicting Glasgow, Riverside Flock, from my artist friend Ali Wallace today.

He works in a WASPS studio in Dennistoun, Glasgow, and I took my son and his pal along because Ciaran LOVES Ali's paintings - not to mention all the bits and pieces in his studio.

As well as being a painter with a unique eye for the hinterland we modern human beings inhabit, Ali is a generous soul.

When I asked if he could donate some work to my friend Sue's fundraiser for our local Marie Curie Hospice, he said yes immediately.

As did my other artist pals, brothers Paul and Adam Kennedy and Sue Biazotti.

Artists are always being asked to help good causes so I don't like to ask too much and I try to spread the love!!

Sue (and her daughter - Marie Curie Hospices also look out for family of those affected by cancer) is being given great care by Marie Curie and being one determined, not to mention organised, wifey, she's hosting a Magical Musical Evening next Saturday on behalf of the charity.

Sue is very musical - until recently she worked (and played) with the Glasgow Fiddle Workshop - and has called in favours from lots of musician friends, not to mention all her friends, who are busy sorting out food and a silent auction.

It promises to be a fantastic night. Maybe this dude (sponsored by B&Q?) should be guest of honour
