When I'm .....

… cleaning windows. Worked from home today and went to the gardens with Darwin. He did better but I think we are getting a reputation for being the dog to stay away from in the mornings, may have to leave it for a while soon. Heard at work that the company let someone go today that has been with us for 10 year or more with no notice. I’ve worked with her closely for a number of years and got to know her well. I know that it’s the culture in the USA to do this but it still doesn’t sit right as I never heard she was doing a bad job. Took Darwin to the new shopping center at lunchtime and he made friends in the Lego shop and in a lotions and potions shop doing well not to bark in either. John Lewis and the escalators are still a work in progress as he cowers away from them. Our windows haven’t been cleaned since late last year and are mankey, They have been left so long partly cause we can’t be arsed to sort out the window cleaner, partly cause it cost £40 a time to get it done and also upstairs wanted us to let them know when we got ours done so they could do theirs at the same time. As a result I ordered some long window cleaning poles which arrived today. Not quite long enough to reach the top of the upper sash windows without using some steps but easy enough to do and almost paid for themselves already. Took the dogs up town for a walk after dinner and the settled in to do the ironing and watch the finals week of Great British Menu.
