Staying upright
As I looked out of the bedroom window late yesterday afternoon I noticed the little plum tree that stands in the corner of the school playing field had blown over and landed just behind our garden gate. Such a shame as the birds used it as a staging post to get to the bird feeders.
The gas meter was changed this morning so I had to be up before 8 a.m. (JJ had gone to golf), and before they finished my Sainsbury's delivery arrived. I had just finished putting things away and looked up to see a red kite with a beak full of twigs heading towards the kitchen window and then veer around the side of the house. I still didn't see where it went.
A quick walk before lunch but very windy and chilly.
Later on this afternoon we're heading over to Brasserie Blanc for an early dinner. Well it is our fifty fifth wedding anniversary.
