Rivers and Ruins

Another late start after going to bed around 3am. This Year Abroad life is so hard. The hard moment was saying goodbye to Libby and not knowing when I'll be seeing her again. It's so weird that I've probably only seen her 5 or 6 times, but that we can feel like such good friends.

Was picked up by Bertrand at 11.30 for lunch. I braved shorts because it seems that the sun does occasionally shine in Auvergne, and wow was it a beautiful day. After a lunch eaten on the terrace, we went for a walk with an amazing view over Le Puy and the Loire which winds its way through the beautiful countryside. The day showed me just how much progress I've made this year because I would have been incredibly worried about going to dinner with someone I barely knew but today, I just got on with it, made convseration and didn't worry too much. Magali (Bertrand's wife) even told me that I don't have too much of an English accent anymore. I don't believe her but it was nice to hear all the same.

Now, at 19:30, I'm sitting on my balcony in the sunshine updating my blip. The thought of leaving France in weather like this is not an easy one! I predict an evening of cake baking for Laura's birthday tomorrow and preparing food treats for the college kids in my final week. Could be worse!
