Let Them Eat Cake ....

The weird recipe worked out well! The rose-geranium leaves stayed in place! It was glazed with syrup of lemon juice, clear honey and orange-flower water (should have been rose water but I didn't have any of that), and served with creme fraiche with pounded up cardamom seeds infused in it. The leaves were delicious, almost candied and very floral. I might do this again with an ordinary sponge mixture. The one in the recipe consisted of eggs, sugar and ground almonds and tasted nice but beating up the eggs and sugar nearly proved too much for my elderly Kenwood.

This is a back-blip. Forgot all about posting in the excitement of seeing friends and chatting for hours. 

I think the plant is called a scented-leaf pelargonium these days.
