Waiting….

Having worked ourselves up almost expecting the C word, we are still waiting. The consultant took lots of history, asked lots of questions and then said we have to wait! Either this Friday or next he will discuss Mr L’s case with his colleagues and work out what to do next. He was clear that the ‘bubble’ on the ct scan was either bacteria or cancer. Treatment depends on what it is. He also said Mr L needs to see his GP in relation to the other symptoms which are not connected to the lung. We both laughed and said we hadn’t been able to see one for over two years. He remarked darkly that he thought they would now having received ‘the letters’! As soon as we were out I rang the surgery, to be told they were not making any pre appointments. Mr L must phone at 8am. If the receptionist deems the request to be a fair one, she will put him on the list for the doctor to phone him. Then, the doctor will decide if he needs a face to face appointment! I do hope he does, or that receptionist is going to be dealing with me, on my way home from work, so it will be face to face!
