Spin On Prickles

My daughter and I took Frankie and Ollie dogs to the lake near where she lives. They had great fun playing with a Spinone Italiano. Its mistress told us that the breed is very chilled and an ideal companion for her hyperactive ten-year-old son. This gun dog is also known as the prickly pointer, possibly because of the way its fur sticks up or because it works amongst prickly undergrowth.

We went to Fishers Green this afternoon and the blackthorn is blooming. I've added an image to extras of some Canada geese with a prickly hedge, white with blossom, in the background. The scientific name of blackthorn is Prunus spinosa.
