Things we need but do not want
Yesterday I paid a visit to the very lovely Don Porritt, in Menston, West Yorkshire, to purchase a second warp beam for my Louet Klik 40 weaving loom. I need this (apparently) for my HNC in weaving as the next project will be about double cloth. Needless to say I wasn't happy forking out £100 but, while I was at Don's studio, I was able to get up close and personal to a Louet Spring floor loom and , well I fell in love. The £2700 price tag made the £100 I had just spent look pathetic so I left Menston with dreams of shiny new floor looms and bigger dreams of weaving my own cloth.
So onto this morning and some daddy daughter bonding. I held the beam in place and dad screwed it all together, we are good at teamwork in our family :)
Here's hoping the second warp beam will pay for itself in time :)
