The forecast suggested it would colder, overcast with the chance of heavy rain in the afternoon, so we headed out as early as we could to the Falls of Acharn just a few miles around the Loch.
We were prepared for the fact that with a fortnight of dry weather there might not be much of a waterfall but we were stunned by the rock formations left behind by the tumbling water. Truly prehistoric. We will definitely be returning when there is more of a "fall" to see.
As we climbed back up from the stream to the gorge, the sun popped out over Ben Lawers and were rewarded for just a few minutes while the snow on the top sparkled in the sunshine.
In extras, these beautiful ladies were having the breakfast as we passed. And there was plenty of evidence of storm damage from earlier in the year but this was the most dramatic.
